Decided to double check all of my departure and arrival information with my study abroad adviser. Turns out I need to be in London before the program start day. In fact, I need to arrive three days earlier for orientation. Information was mixed up in our emails to each other. Needless to say, in-person communication is always best.
So...what does that mean? I need to reschedule my tickets. Called the airlines and it would cost more to change the tickets or cancel them than it would to buy new tickets. Crazy, huh? Love the plane game.
This journey reminds me of hiking. At first, the incline is gradual. Excitement fuels a spring in your step. It starts getting steeper. Your breath becomes more frequent. Your muscles strain to move forward. The thought of reaching the top and seeing the view keeps you moving forward. You move on. You slow to a walk. A crawl. Scrapes and bruises won't stop you from reaching your goal. Here. I. Stand. Scrapes and bruises with only the hope of being at the top. Flat ground.
I'll make it to London. No doubt. It just might take some fight to get there.
