Built this large fort out of couches, blankets, cardboard, shoes, and pillows. It's times like these that reminds me to be like a child.
Children are carefree. They see life as an endless playground. They have confidence. Running is for fun - not for exercise. They jump in puddles. They climb trees. They color outside the lines.
Returning to the mindset of a child is difficult. It's easy to say to be more adventurous or "I'm going to relax more often." But how often do you take this advice? When life does get stressful, how do you act? Act out of anger. Act out of self pity. Act in selfishness. I've definitely done all of these.
Instead, take a deep breath with me. Breathe. In. Out. Okay, now find the good that has come out of the situation so far. Can't think of anything? Then what good could be the result? From there we find a place of peace. Somewhere where faith can grow. A state of thankfulness.
Growing in this area. A place of peace. A state of childlike faith.
