Our adventure started early morning as we headed out of Eugene, OR to catch the sunrise on our way to Vancouver, BC.
Masado, sporting Mimi's sunglasses to block the sun, was our driver for most of the way up.
Masado surprised us with his abounding energy on the early morning drive.
A few of our friends traveled up to Canada in a separate car. One of them forgot their passport and we used this balloon to flag them down at Masado's house.
Crossing the border - my first time leaving the U.S. Warning: untreated wood isn't allowed into Canada. We were almost left without any firewood until an officer allowed us to keep some of our treated wood.
 Mimi, my beloved roommate.

A bear visited our campsite during the night and left its footprints. This was after a raccoon came and stole some of our almonds.
The bear sliced through a piece of our starter log in one clean swipe. Glad we didn't meet the bear during the day, but I have to admit I was sad to miss seeing it.
We made a makeshift lid out of tinfoil wrapped around a paper plate to boil our water. We grew so fond of our lid that we named our lid Lenny and the pot Penny.
We went into Vancouver, BC after freshining up at Mimi's aunt and uncle's house in Port Coquitlam (locals call it Poco).
